Steve Street

Steve joined the Dove Group in March 2024 to work on an EPSRC project on the catalytic depolymerisation of poly(ethylene terephthalate), in collaboration with Professor Joe Wood of Chemical Engineering. Steve earned his MChem (2011) at the University of Reading before taking his PhD (2017) as part of the Bristol Chemical Synthesis Centre for Doctoral Training (BCS-CDT) at the University of Bristol. His doctoral thesis, “Selective ligands for G-quadruplex nucleic acids with anti-cancer activity”, was supervised by Professor Carmen Galan.  His postdoctoral career has included 2 years as EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellow at Bristol, 4 years as a Senior Research Associate with Professor Ian Manners FRS at the University of Victoria in Canada, and latterly as Director of the Aspiration Cluster in Nanotherapeutics at the University of Victoria. In addition to Canada, Steve has lived in Seville (Spain), Basel (Switzerland), and Kyoto (Japan).
