Peter Nugent

Peter was born in Singapore and has also lived in Australia. He earned his MChem from University of Durham, during which he worked on placement at INEOS Compounds, and his thesis was titled: “The evaluation and characterisation of novel additives in polyvinyl chloride to create an organotin free more sustainable alternative to the current formulation used in vinyl records.” Peter subsequently spent a year at INEOS Compounds as a graduate technician, and moved into a PhD within the Department of Chemical Engineering to grow his knowledge. Peter’s PhD, which has Professor Anita Ghag and Professor Andrew Dove as his co-supervisors, is part of the research project ‘Developing a Circular Plastics Economy for Medical Testing Plastics’.
