Laihui Xiao

Laihui is originally from Fujian, China. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Fujian Normal University and completed his master’s studies at Chinese Academy of Forestry. He then moved to the UK to pursue a PhD at the University of Birmingham under the supervision of Professor Rachel O’Reilly. His doctoral research focused on scaling up the synthesis of complex, degradable, and functional polymeric nanoparticles using crystallization-driven self-assembly (CDSA) in flow.

In July 2025, Laihui joined the Dove Group, where he is currently working on a project centered on the depolymerization of PET, contributing to the development of sustainable polymer recycling strategies.
