Rueben Pfukwa received his PhD in Polymer Science at Stellenbosch University, Stellenbosch, South Africa in 2012. He is currently a senior research fellow in the Department of Chemistry and Polymer Science at Stellenbosch University, affiliated with Prof Bert Klumperman’s research group. His research interests are in the design, synthesis and application of advanced macromolecular architectures. Focus is placed on fundamental studies into the synthesis of well-defined homo and block copolymers, via reversible deactivation radical polymerization (RDRP) and organocatalytic anionic polymerization (OCAP), as well as the hierarchical self-assembly for morphology control on a nanometer length scale, for application in nanotechnology and in drug delivery.
